Hello there,
I am reaching out to seek some advice on improving my 3D modeling skills; specifically for creating game environments. I have been working on a project where I am designing a detailed fantasy themed environment; but I am encountering a few challenges that I could use some help with.
Firstly; I am having difficulty with optimizing my models to ensure they perform well in a game engine. I have heard various tips about reducing polygon counts and using normal maps effectively; but I am unsure how to apply these concepts practically. Could anyone provide insights or best practices for optimizing models without compromising too much on visual quality?
Secondly; I am struggling with texturing and material creation. I want my textures to have a realistic look; but I am finding it hard to get the materials to interact well with lighting in the game engine. Are there specific techniques or tools that you recommend for achieving high quality textures and materials?
Also, I have gone through this post; https://forum.sketchub.in/d/82-my-problem-is-i-am-having-power-bi-with-picking-sketchware-folder which definitely helped me out a lot.
Lastly; I am interested in hearing about any resources or tutorials that have been particularly useful for improving skills in these areas. Whether it is specific YouTube channels, online courses, or even books; I am open to any recommendations.
Thank you in advance for your help and assistance. :
